(News) Cayin N8ii Released: Latest Flagship Digital Audio Player With Fully Balanced Tube Amplification!!

Cayin N8II

Cayin N8ii

Cayin has officially launched its latest top-tier digital audio player, the Cayin N8ii. If we follow the news by Cayin, the N8ii has been in the development stage for quite some time now. It was supposed to be released last year but due to the shortage of AKM DAC chips in the market, the development has to be switched midway from AKM to a different manufacturer’s chipset(ROHM). Cayin has been a pioneer brand when it comes to HiFi headphone amplifiers and digital audio players. The OG N8 was a huge success for Cayin being one of the only few DAPs to have Tube amplification during its release. Even today, only a handful of DAPs have got tube amplification. What the latest N8ii does that makes it stand out in the crown would be the implementation of dual KORG Nutubes enabling us to get a fully balanced tube amplification in our pocket. Cayin N8ii packs a powerful performance with the latest ROHM BD34301x2 Dual DAC chipset and Dual KORG Nutube 6P1 tubes. It’s a flagship product with a flagship price tag of 3,499$, but since the OG N8 was a huge success, we are having good thoughts with the latest N8ii too!! You can order one from our store here shipments will begin shortly.

Designed For Remarkable Performance With Dual ROHM DAC Chips

Cayin N8ii is a top-tier digital audio player. Keeping this in mind, Cayin N8ii houses a Dual DAC chipset featuring two ROHM BD34301 DAC chips(one for each channel). It is a 32-Bit stereo DAC chipset that provides excellent audio signal decoding while providing ultra-low distortion and quality in the sound output.

Fully Balanced Tube Amplification

Cayin N8ii has balanced tube headphone amplification thanks to the dual KORG Nutube 6P1 tubes. Now enjoy your favorite headphones/IEMs with balanced 4.4mm termination with Tube amplification anywhere you want. Cayin has designed the N8ii with a fully-discrete audio circuitry for best performance. Engineers at Cayin have finely adjusted the amount of feedback on the tube circuit to get a natural and transparent sound.

Dual Operational Mode: Class A and Class AB

The amp section in the Cayin N8ii has dual operational modes, Class A and Class AB. It also has dual output modes, Standard P mode, and high-power P+ mode. The high-power P+ mode is ideally designed for high-power requiring headphones. Do note that the High P+ gain mode on tube amplification is available only on the Class AB mode.

Android 9.0 OS and Octa-Core Snapdragon SoC

Cayin N8ii supports countless media applications available for users on the Android Play store. The device comes loaded with Android 9.0 OS. Cayin has designed the N8ii with an Octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC with 6GB for a smooth and snappy user interface. N8ii also has DTA(Direct Transfer Architecture) that allows the users to enjoy Hi-Res audio across different applications on the device.

Supports Both Balanced & Single-Ended Connections

Cayin has featured both single-ended as well as balanced headphone and line-out connection support with the N8ii. It has 3.5mm single-ended as well as 4.4mm balanced headphone output ports. There is a separate Line-out port for single-ended connections, although the N8ii has a single balanced 4.4mm port for both headphone output and line-out.

Long Battery Life With Large 10,000 mAh Battery

Cayin N8ii houses a super huge 10,000mAh battery. It has a battery life of up to 11 hours while using it with a single-ended connection. With Tube-Amp mode, it supports up to 10 hours of continuous music playback. It also supports QC3.0 fast charging for quickly charging the device and get back to your world of Hi-Res Audio.

The Latest Cayin N8ii Vs The OG Cayin N8

Looking at the latest Cayin N8ii, one can easily say Cayin has completely redesigned the entire N8 for the new N8ii. The OG model didn't have any open Android OS, and nor did it support tube amplification via the Balanced headphone output port, all these features are new on the N8ii now. With the latest-gen ROHM Dual DAC chipset, the N8ii also has better parameters for Hi-Res audio decoding. It has also got a bigger and better display(5" OLED display).

Price & Availability

Apart from all these features, Cayin N8ii has all the latest features such as Hi-Res Wireless Bluetooth support bright OLED display, Dual-band Wifi, and many more. All these advanced features come with the N8ii priced at 3499$, check out more details here.
