D400Ex adopts a high-performance Dual DAC chipset with two flagship DAC chips. It houses two AK4499EX and AK4191 latest-generation 32-bit DAC chips from AKM Technologies. AKM DAC Chips are known for their unparalleled rich tonality with great technical performance. D400Ex also features an XU316 USB Processor chipset. It’s a 3rd-generation USB chipset that supports high-resolution PCM and DSD signals with the D400Ex. You get support for high-res 32-Bit/768kHz PCM and native DSD512 audio signals. It has got MQA and MQA CD certifications, bringing in full support for decoding for studio-grade MQA audio signals. SMSL has also featured nine independent high-end OP-AMP chips on the D400EX for clean, precise audio performance. With the help of its premium audio circuitry, the D400EX achieves an ultra-low distortion rating of -124dB and a high Dynamic range in the output signal.
SMSL has equipped the D400EX with the latest QCC5125 Bluetooth chip. It enables support for high-resolution Bluetooth connectivity for signal input with high-definition LDAC, and AptX HD wireless transmission protocol support.
