Shanling took its time to bring back the flagship again, and this time, we got an updated flagship from Shanling, introducing the all-new Shanling M9 Plus. Shanling M9 Plus takes the performance to an all-new level with an all-new upgraded circuitry. This time, Shanling has implemented a four-DAC design featuring four high-performance AKM AK4499EX flagship DAC chipsets. They are supported by dual AK4191 delta-sigma modulators. Newer Quad-DAC Arrangement
The DAC arrangement on the M9 Plus comes as a big upgrade over the predecessor flagship. With the M9 Plus, we now have a quad-DAC arrangement featuring AKM’s current top-of-the-line chips, the AKM AK4499EX. AK4499EX is the current flagship 32-Bit DAC that is implemented in four numbers on the M9 Plus. It is supported by dual AK4191 delta-sigma modulators for enhanced performance here. It gets access to an 8-channel audio design for the totally independent balanced circuit. Quad DAC design offers an increased current output and overall improved dynamics, better SNR, and lower background noise, with all four DACs being active for the balanced output. All four DACs are manually tested and paired for ideal matching in the audio circuit.
Upgraded Audio Circuit
Taking the overall performance of the M9 Plus to an all-new level of awesomeness, Shanling has equipped the player with upgraded components including premium crystal oscillators for lower jitter(90.3168MHz/98.304MHz), upgraded ADA45253 chip on I/V conversion circuit, etc. Shanling has also upgraded the amplifier circuit. It is based on Shanling’s OP+BUF architecture with MUSES8920 J-FET and BUF634 chips. The resulting performance is clean, refined, and full of dynamics. The upgraded amplification chipset on the M9 Plus allows the DAP to provide a whooping 1120mW of clean output through the balanced connection port.
DAC Section Has Got Independent Power Supply
Shanling has featured an independent XC9519 power supply chipset for the DAC section on the M9 Plus. An Independent power supply provides cleaner performance with a smooth and uninterrupted power supply to the DAC. The Quad DAC definitely requires some juice to sound its best and Shanling has achieved that with the XC9519.
