Sound quality description
In this review, I use the standard eartips size L and drive it with the FiiO M15.
BLON Z200 has a V-shaped sound signature.
Please see here for detailed reviews on sound quality.
Lows / Bass
The BLON Z200's low frequencies seem slightly expansive, but extend well into the deep end.
Bass drum kicks are weighty, thick and muscular, with ample impact. Rumbles are also quite rich and will be heard with a realistic and lively atmosphere.
The electric bass is also sufficiently black and has good spaciousness. There is a slight lack of tightness, but there is little to complain about.
The low frequencies of the BLON Z200 are of a sufficient level to satisfy low-frequency enthusiasts.
Mids
The midrange is relatively close to neutral, but the center is concave, emphasizing three-dimensionality.
The midrange tends to sound slightly darker and a bit cramped. Texture is mostly accurate, and while transparency is not bad, coloration is a bit poor and the sense of build is lacking.
The corners are rounded and the midrange is balanced to sound rich and sweet, making it a fairly good choice if you like a mild, comfortable sound.
The snare and electric guitars don't have much sharpness, so it may not be the best choice for rock.
Highs / Treble
The high frequencies of BLON Z200 are lacking in extension. The space is basically closed and lacks a sense of openness.
The overall energy is low and safe in the highs, but within that energy, the toothed sound is a bit stronger. This may result in a slightly sharp feeling depending on the volume and the sound source. The sense of definition is a bit lacking, but the amount of detail will not feel buried, as it is not lacking much.
Sound quality general comment
- Original Sound Fidelity: A
- Recommendation: B+
- Personal preference: B+
In terms of audio specifications, the BLON Z200 is generally above standard for the price and seems like a relatively good choice. If you prefer a sound field with a sense of depth and an emphasis on forward localization, this is a highly recommended earphone, but the cramped midrange is not likely to be popular with audiophiles who generally value midrange hearing.
Sound quality features
Pros
- Good texture expression
- Good original sound fidelity
- Sound field with a sense of depth
- Front localization
- Rich midrange
- Heavy
- Low distortion
Cons
- Lack of high frequency extension
- Lack of sense of build
- Cramped midrange
General comment
The BLON Z200 has a beautiful appearance and delivers a massive sound with an emphasis on low frequencies typical of this brand. It is highly recommended if you prefer a sound field expression with a sense of depth, but in general, the midrange sounds cohesive and cramped, so it is not suitable for everyone. Also, re-cabling is not possible.
