Earlier today, Matrix Audio announced its latest generation of “Element Series” of all-in-one desktop music streamers. Equipped with a new circuit design, and upgraded functions, we will be getting three new devices, the Matrix element M2, the Matrix element X2, and the Matrix element i2. Designed with premium ESS Sabre DAC chipsets, all three of these promise spectacular performance with high-resolution PCM, DSD, and MQA decoding support. All three of these Element series desktop streamers will officially be available starting mid-may 2022.
Matrix Element X2
The Element X2 is the latest flagship in the Element series from Matrix Audio. It’s a full-featured stand-alone source device for your desktop audio systems. Equipped with the flagship ES9038Pro Sabre DAC chipset, the latest X2 brings high-resolution streaming audio to your existing two-channel systems. The latest Element X2 is equipped with a large 3.46” LCD touch screen display. It supports both Local as well as Network Music streaming, the display showcases the artworks in crisp resolution and clarity. The Element X2 supports multiple streaming services straight out of the box including Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, and more. It also has Roon Ready Certification under test.

It brings high-resolution streaming to your traditional two-channel audio systems. Matrix has designed the latest Element M2 with a flagship-grade ES9028Pro DAC chipset from Sabre Technologies. It brings us an immersive and detailed sound experience with high-resolution PCM, DSD, and MQA decoding support. Similar to the Matrix Element X2, the latest element M2 houses a brilliant 3.46” LCD Touchscreen. It supports multiple applications including Spotify, QOBUZ, Tidal, and more straight out of the box. Other than the ES9028Pro DAC and a compact build, the Element M2 is identical to the flagship Element X2 in features and design.

Matrix Element i2
Element i2 is going to be the latest entry-level music streamer in the Element series by Matrix Audio. Even though it's an entry-level monitor it shares a wide range of features with the other models in the series including the fast SoC and USB Chip that enables it to support high-resolution PCM, DSD, and MQA decoding with full precision. The Element i2 uses a premium ES9038Q2M DAC chipset from Sabre Technologies. Matrix has equipped the Element i2 with a high-precision Crystek CCHD-950 femtosecond clock. It effectively reduces the jitter and makes the output more realistic and natural. Element i2 also houses a 3.46” colorful touchscreen display. It supports multiple streaming applications including Qobuz, Tidal, Spotify, and many more straight out of the box.
